Our Story

Gable Valley Wrought Iron was begun in 2008 by Wes Gable, and is built on a lifetime of experience in the timeless art of blacksmithing. The trade has been in the family for generations beginning with his grandfather, Emanual Schrock, in a small blacksmith shop in Wayne County Ohio. Wes learned from Emanual during summer vacations and after graduation from school. While exploring several other lines of work, Wes maintained his passion for blacksmithing as a hobby. Eventually he developed a modest line of small craft items, gifts, and also took on the occasional custom project. In 2014, connections were made in the local furniture manufacturing industry and he was able to commit his full attention to fine metalworking and blacksmithing. The business grew quickly. For a number of years the shop stayed busy building exclusive and custom designs for some of the best fine furniture manufacturers and retail stores in the area. In 2022 Gable Valley Wrought Iron expanded and launched our own product line. We sell only wholesale to a growing nationwide network of retail dealers.
